“Wow. I really feel like people are taught to embrace their privilege, everyone wants to keep saying in bold over and over, “your privilege isn’t bad, it’s not something to feel bad about”, and on and on so as not to hurt feelings and trample over people’s natural guilt/anger reaction. Let us never forget, though, that your privilege did indeed come about by bad things, bad rules, bad laws, bad teachings, bad ideals, bad people. It is okay to be told and to know how bad your privilege can be towards others and especially when you deny it and what it’s put the rest of us through in order to secure that privilege even though it isn’t first hand “your fault”. What was that inane quote going about a bit ago saying privilege is like having big feet or something? Just no. Your privileges(and all of ours) were brought about through oppression and wrong doings and wrong feelings as to what is “good” or acceptable or allowed and what is not. And privilege is not good, whether cis, white, male, neurological, etc… It was brought about by making others not in your position be or feel less than you.”—
